Freddy played 4.5 innings today and followed up game work with some infield practice. You can tell he is working hard to get back in to game ready form as quickly as possible which is great to see. His line was as follows:

0-2, 3BB, 1K.

Today he was hitting 3rd in the lineup every inning giving him some different looks situationally. I got to the game in the bottom of the 1st so I missed Freddy’s first PA, apparently it was a GO to 3B. I made mention of it yesterday but his plate discipline is something we need in SF. He got 3 walks and the payoff pitches weren’t easy takes either. Of the three, two of the walks came on payoff pitches with the count full. He fought off a decent amount of pitches as well to work the count after getting behind 1-2 or 2-2.

In the field he again only had one chance and it was a ground ball up the middle. He ranged to his right and then dove to stop it from reaching CF. He was basically behind 2B when he stopped it. The runner reached 1B as it was just too deep after diving to get the speedy youngster, but it just shows that the knee and shoulder are looking good right now.

There was 2 games going on simultaneously at Fitch today, and the other game had Michael Sandoval at 3B. He should be at the end of his rehab assignment come this weekend or so. His swing is nice and compact and pulls balls down the line, I am pretty sure today he had 2 doubles with this approach. He is projected to join Conor Gillaspie at 3B in Richmond, and I would recommend keeping tabs on him when he gets there.
