Matt Cain was held out of the game against the division rival Padres in order to face his teammate Brandon Medders and the AA squad at Indian School Park.

Hank and Baggs were on hand watching the game and I’m sure they will have more detailed information on what happened.

I was jumping around from both fields trying to get shots so I wasn’t able to keep score or even see how players were doing.

In the AAA game, Matt was joined by Eli Whiteside and Nate Schierholtz. Brandon Medders was followed by Joe Martinez on the AA team.

One thing I did see was Tyler LaTorre take Matt deep to the right of the Batter’s Eye for a 2 run shot.

Fred Lewis was also get some ABs but he was playing on the San Jose team on field 1.

The only pitcher I really watched was Hector Correa who closed out the A game. If you aren’t familiar with Hector, we acquired him in a trade for Ronnie Paulino, who never put on a Giants uniform, from the Marlins. He’s raw, but got swing and miss stuff and looks to be a great addition.
