Giants get the 7-0 shut out behind great pitching performances and 7RBI from John Bowker.

Diamond Notes:

- The story of the day is definitely John Bowker. 2 bombs (1 GS) and a 2B for 7 RBI on the night. Baggs had mentioned it in a tweet, but it’s safe to say that John is most grateful they made this game up.

He now leads the MLB in RBI and quite possibly put himself in the lead for an OF spot come April 5th.

- I don’t want to pat myself on the back, but I have to mention my prediction of Bowker’s Grand Slam.

Posey had just got HBP to load the bases and I immediately pointed to the RF Bullpen and said “Johnny’s going to hit it there.”

Some fans behind me started ragging on me, saying “Thanks man, now you jinxed him. It’s going to be all your fault now when he doesn’t!” I responded, “I’m telling you he’s going to hit it out.”

3 pitches later…BOOM, right in to the visitors bullpen.

Now everybody in the stands are my best friends…All 10 of them (more on that later).

Dear John,

If you are reading this, I backed you up brother. Fans were dogging me for pointing out of the yard Ruthian style and you came through. I knew you were going rope one, it was only a matter of getting your pitch. Way to come up large with the bases loaded and hooking me up. Atta babe.

- Henry Sosa got the start tonight, but he only pitched 2 innings. He still has a 0 ERA and the speed was ranging from 83-96 on the stadium gun.

- As you may have heard, Kevin Frandsen got pulled late in the game after fouling a ball off the plate the ricocheted in to his grill. I didn’t get a photo of it, but I did get him wincing backwards. It was legitimately scary, and he was bleeding from his mouth as he head back to the dugout. I don’t have any official word, but he looked to be okay as he went out on the field after the victory.

- Speaking of Franny, he bobbled a somewhat routine ground ball hit to him that resulted in an error. The crowd was sighing. However, the very next play Franny lays out to his left and stabs a hot liner to the gap in mid air. It was a great play. The crowd quickly turned…

- As I alluded to earlier, the crowd size was announced as 2K. The was most likely tickets as there was maybe 1K in the stands. This is probably because it’s a make up game and nobody really knew about it. It kind of fired me up though, because you could sit anywhere and everywhere yet my wife and I had threw down on primo seats for the first game that got rolled over. Oh well, it’s still Giants baseball.

- Because of the night game the photos will be noisy, blurred, and have not so great color. It’s been a very long day and I just corrected some shots quickly to get them up for you guys. As with the other post, I may add more at a later time to fill out the set.
