Tonight was the last game at Scottsdale Stadium for the Scorpions as well as the last night game for the 2009 AFL season.  They close out the home season with a win in chilly weather in front of Hall of Fame inductee Brian Giles (He probably left before the game even started).

I met Bob Brenly tonight as well. Man he was a good catcher. I wish he would come back to the organization instead of working for the Cubs. Maybe in two years….

Diamond Notes:

* Chase D’Arnaud stole another base tonight, making him the league leader with 11. Looks like Thomas is going to have to take 2 bags tomorrow to get the crown.

* Jose Tabata is a beast. 2-3 with a 3B and 2BB. His avg is .363 and leads the league in hits. I’m thinking the Pirates are very pleased.

* Before the game started, Bob Milacki made a comment about how Tuffy was going to go 4-5 with 2 doubles. Well guess what? He didn’t go 4-5 but 3-4 with, you guessed it, 2 doubles.

* Ryan Kalish was acting as 1B coach tonight and had to wear the hardhat. Either the helmet is way too small, or his head is Bochy porportions. I’ll let you decide.

As always, Scottsdale night games completely suck with my camera, so not a lot of pictures, but take a look for yourself.
