Two early runs weren’t enough in this contest as the Solar Sox got to the bullpen edging out the Scorpions 3-2. Roe pitched a great game to start, going 3IP, 2H, 4K’s. Unfortunately, Valdez wishes he had a pitch back when Singleton went yard on him in the 5th, knocking a shot in to the bullpens, erasing Roe’s work and making this a 4 inning game. Mesa was able to squeak out 1 run in the 6th and hold on for the W.

Diamond Notes:

* Brandon Crawford was batting 2nd today and had a double going 1-4. He was playing 3B again.

* Thomas Neal in clean up was a sight for sore eyes. Allen needed to be tried somewhere else in the lineup. 0-4, but he did get 1 of the 2 RBI’s.

* Buster Posey went 1-3, BB. I think his catching is the big story here. Castro stole a base off him, but the game management today and leading up has been great. Roe, hasn’t been the greatest his last 2 starts and I think Buster had a hand in working these hitters. Roe had 4K’s total over his last 4 starts, today he had 4 in 3IP. A complete turn around the last time he was here, only lasting .2IP. The team got beat 3-2 on a location mistake for the most part. Props to the battery today even though it was a loss.
