The Scorpions lost to the Mesa Solar Sox yesterday as they fall to 4-4 on the young season.

Couple of observations:

* Buster Posey picked up his offensive game with a 2-4 night including a 2B (1st XBH) and 2RBI. Both RBI came with 2 outs. He remains in the 5 hole.

Defensively however, the box score tells a different story with an error and a passed ball. I wasn’t at the game and can’t distinguish if these were correct scorings but that rises his error count to 3 in 6 games.

* Thomas Neal and Brandon Crawford continue to roll with the bat. Neal has had at least 1 hit in every appearance, and Crawford raised his average to .316.

Someone needs to tell Banister that placing Neal consistently in the 7 hole is a waste of production. Let’s move him up, possibly flip flop Posey from 5 to 7 or even bump him to clean up or the 3 hole. He mashes in BP. I’d like to see him get more hittable pitches with some runners on in front of him.

* Neal is hitting a .375 clip against RHP…he bats RH. Of total 21PA’s, 18 have been against RHP. He has 2BB’s in the 3PA’s against LHP.

* Steve Edlefsen pitched 1.1 innings with 3K’s and came in with 2 inherited runners that did not score. Very nice.

Today’s Game:

I will be attending the Javelinas - Desert Dogs game today in Peoria. Strasburg will start and I am assuming Ackley will be in the lineup since he hasn’t played in 2 days and he’s a left handed bat. Since they are in different leagues, it may be a long time before they face each other again, if ever. I’ll post pictures even though it’s not necessarily Giants related.
